Have you noticed how much "bling" is on clothes these days??? I was sorting some clothes for Christian Aid this week, and for the first time ever realized how often they use bling on clothes. We were throwing out a lot of used clothes and stuff...and I thought, "Why not try to reuse the bling???" I mean, seriously, it looks exactly like the rhinestones you can buy for scrapping...except the ones on the clothes are sewn on...or don't stick anymore after you take them off the clothes. But hey -- that's what double-sided tape is for!!! LOL
Yes, it DOES work!!! I've tried it a few times...and you wouldn't know if the bling is new...or taken off old clothes!!! :)
Here's the latest layout I did. This one has BOTH used bling...and new bling. Can you tell the difference??? I think not!!! :) Btw, this layout is a lift I did from the Fiskateer's gallery. I love it!!!
The big rhinestone in HAPPINESS is new...all the little bling are reused ones taken off clothes!!!

Embellishing and Titling
I've actually showcased one of these two pages already -- had it for my top 6 favourites of 2009. :) The first page was missing its title though -- as I hadn't been able to come up with anything good or anything I liked.
This week as I was looking through my scrapbook, I decided enough is enough! It's time to title it -- embellish it, the works! I just wanted to get that page finished already!!! So I went online to look for ideas (I LOVE the internet!!! And people that post their layouts to inspire others -- totally my heroes!!!!)
I found some templates for graduation embellishments online....and decided to try my luck. I love them!!! They turned out soooo cute -- and they're so simple to make!
The rest of the titling was a piece of cake. And now my layout is FINALLY complete!!! What do YOU think???

Flooding Waters
In the spring of 2009, a lot of towns and communities in Manitoba were flooded when the Red River crested. For a full week, we sandbagged. It was tiring...but it was so much fun!!! I met so many wonderful people -- saw old friends -- just an awesome time...despite the cold..and the water, and everything that was going wrong around us!
I'm not sure where exactly I picked up the paper I used for the background -- it might have been garage sale...but I was soooooooo glad for it when I set out to scrap these pictures. The paper made the layout come together so easily -- and I love it!!! :)

Truly Inspired!!! :)
This weekend was busy -- spending time with family and friends! No time for crafts -- didn't even try if I'm being honest! :p It was a busy week -- helping out with sewing quilts for Haiti and other countries in need. So scrapping took a backseat.
I've been waiting to get some backings on the cards I made last weekend. Once I got started with that batch, I just couldn't stop!!! I discovered using BLING!!! Man do I love that stuff now!! Can't wait to get more!!! :) It truly does wonders for cards -- not an overly-huge fan of using it in scrapbook layouts yet though. Although it can look good there as well -- it's just not a huge requirement. Whereas when it comes to cards, bling totally does it for me!
So what do you think of this batch??? The theme with these cards is Baptism...and I had A LOT to make, so I reused the same design a few times. Although I did get a variety in there as well. I love this batch. They are, in my opinion, the best cards I have ever created!!!
It's amazing how much of an impact looking through galleries and getting to know other scrappers and card makers can have on your creations. So here's a great big "thank you" to all the people who keep coming back to my blog -- keep leaving their comments. Yeah for you!!! You help inspire me -- you help make me better as this craft!!! :)

Long time in the Making...
Yeah!!! It's finally finished!!! I've been working on this page for the past few weeks -- laying it away 'cause I couldn't come up with any ideas. But it all came together today. :)
This is the first time I've ever used a circle in my layout -- quite challenging.

I LOVE...
Hi there! I finally went back to making scrapbook layouts! I've recently been so busy with making Baptism Cards and Birthday cards. LOL -- it was tough getting into them...but once I DID come up with a design, it was hard to stop!!!! But after 25+ cards it was time to move on. :)
So anyways, I had this layout page finished off like two days ago -- here's what it looked like:
I heat embossed the letters LOVE with sparkle powder. Then I made them stand higher with mounting squares.
I liked it...but it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. So after two days of looking at it lying around (I usually leave my layout lying somewhere where I can see it all day...and decide if I like it after multi-looks) LOL -- I decided it wasn't exactly how I wanted it. So off went everything (the good thing about two-sided tape!) and I started again...
And here's what it looked like after I was all finished!
I decided I didn't like the look of the LOVE being higher...so I took out the mounting squares. I added a border (that also sparkles) and the hearts. I also added two little white rub-on hearts...
This time I LOVE IT!!! :)

Moving Challenge
I've been wanting to make a card for the Sir Stampalot Challenge at >>> Floral Fantasies <<<, but just haven't found the time in the last week!!! Too busy doing other projects!!! I finally sat down and attempted to make a birthday card for a girl I babysit. I always thought I'd go with a card that had embellishments that could move around...LOL. Here's what I came up with.
As you can see...the embellishments are free to move as they please! :)

Latest Cards
I've had a busy afternoon at my scrap table. I've been wanting to get some Baptism cards made. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with new designs or new ideas for these cards, but didn't get anywhere! Then I discovered the Fiskar Scroll Boss -- one little design that I absolutely loved! I made one border and the card came together sooo fast!!! I just love it -- especially when I added the rhinestones! Here's a few to look at -- basicly I have sooo many to make that I'm duplicating...and just using different colours. :) They all look a tad different though. :)

Back to Scrappin'
Here's a baby layout I did. I loved working with baby pictures -- and coming up with ideas to make each baby layout different. (I made a scrapbook album for my parents...so I had four different baby layouts to make.) This one, the only boy page easily came together. I love the way the journaling looks stamped...when it really isn't! It's amazing how many different looks you can make with one printer!!! :) Gotta love technology!!!! LOL
Some close up shots:
Not sure if you can see it here -- but the squares spelling BOY are raised.

Totally love this poem!!! I changed a few words to make it fit more...

Trying for Challenges
Well, my card is finished!!! I love how it turned out!!! :) It's the first time I ever heat embossed, so I was kind of a little freaked out...and hoped it would all turn out right! Actually, I used both a stamp and my inkjet printer!!!! After reading about using an inkjet printer to emboss, I figured I may as well try it. Honestly, I prefer stamping an image...as my printing dried a little faster than I would have liked, but it worked!!! Go HERE if you would like to know how the Embossing with an Inkjet Printer Works. (I'm gonna try printing colours later and seeing if that'll emboss!!!!) Should be interesting.
Anyways, on to my card.
Anyways, on to my card.
I'm entering it in a sketch challenge at Skipping Stones. I've run across a few challenges in the last few days that I think I could enter it into as well...so I'm gonna try find them! :) Wish me luck!
Update: I've also entered this card in: ABC's Something New Challenge, and Belli Challenge #84: Ribbons

Sneek Peek
Hi all! I finally got my first Whiff of Joy stamp. :) I'm totally excited!!! I can just see all the fun I'm going to have with making cards now -- especially with this little cutie! :)
Here's a sneek peak of my card -- it's not quite finished yet -- but I'm just too excited about how my embossing turned out (my first try EVER!) that I just HAD to share it! LOL (I'll post the actual card later on today)

In an Orange Mood!
Here's a card I made using orange. I've totally discovered this colour as a favourite when it comes to cards or layouts! Makes me cheerful! :) So anyways, I basicly used supplies I had lying around my craft table (Fiskateers was looking for some orange-y goodness in the gallery). So what do you think???
