Back with a Baptism Card

Hi guys. I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything! I don't have a camra around these days (other than my ipod) which has kind of been keeping me from showcasing new cards. It's definitely something I've had to get used to -- and after a couple weeks of not posting, I've decided to give my ipod camra (low quality photos) another shot. I'm sure you'll get the basic idea of the card, and hopefully I'll get some better photos of my cards soon so I can showcase them better.

So enough about that. :p On to the card...

This card is for a friend's baptism. A lot of young people in my church are getting baptized around Easter time....so this time each year has me making lots of baptism cards. It's a good thing my mojo is in good form right now -- 'cause I don't really like to make too many of the same cards (although mass production of a select few favourites always does happen).

I actually picked up this paper from a garage sale last year, so I honestly don't know what the line is called. But whatever it was, I absolutely loved it! :) The coloured paper on the first layer actually has a print on it, but it's so faint you hardly notice it. Out of curiousity I put it through my cuttlebug to see if it would look good even if there was a pattern on it, and I was impressed with the results. I actually cuttlebugged the whole sheet 'cause I loved the look so much! But after trying it with other printed paper, I quickly discovered that the end result is not always as great. I would suggest using only plain cardstock or only lightly printed paper when you cuttlebug.

The cross stamp is from a stamp set called "The Glory of Easter" that I won last April (right after Easter of course). It's been sitting on my shelf for close to a year now, and I was so excited to finally have a reason to use it. I absolutely love love love this set!

I borrowed the border punch (fiskars Apron Lace border punch), which is one of my favourites. I seriously need to get to a Michael's Craft store soon so I can buy some supplies and punches. It's amazing how difficult that is at times! :p

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to come visit my blog. I'd like to encourage all my readers (once again) to follow my blog using Linky Followers since the Google followers is apparently supposed to stop working as of tonight! :( So link on up -- I don't want to lose my faithful followers!!!!!!!!!

Liebster Blog Award

Hi peeps! I signed in to my blog this morning...and saw that I had been nominated for a blog award!!! :) That definitely put a smile on my face. :) So I just want to give a shout out to Rosalee over at Rosalee's Scrap Lounge. Thanks so much dear! I appreciate it! :)

The Liebster Blog Award is meant for the blogs in Blog Land that hve 200 or less followers. This is such a wonderful idea cause that way people won't feel left out especially if they happen to be nominated for it. As part of the tradition the award is passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me. It comes from the German meaning dearest or beloved but can also mean favorite. To accept the award you must:

1. Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you and thank them.
2. Post the award to your blog
3. Give the award to 5 bloggers (less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value
4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you chose to let them know

So here are the five blogs that I would like to nominate for the award. These blogs have had  such a big impact on my scrapping and card making. Whether it's for an occasional new idea, a motivation when I have no mojo...or just the sweet comments they leave behind...these women are awesome! :)

1. Feebse over at TenchiNeko's Crafty Dabblings
2. Laurie over at Scraps by Sissy
3.  Michelle at Scrapbooking SOS
4. Cheryl over at Patches and Scraps
5. Patty over at PaPeRpLaTeS

Thanks ladies! You totally rock! Be sure to save and show off the award on your blogs. You deserve it! :)

hugs, Divinity :)

New Followers Linky

Have you heard? The popular Google Friend Connect is going away Feb 29th for non-Google blog platforms (meaning for those of you who use WordPress, etc.) The word is that it will be eventually phased out completely to be replaced by Google+.
As I understand it, my Google Friend Connect followers cannot be automatically moved over! Google won't allow access to those accounts...which is a good thing I guess. But that means....YOU have to sign up to be my follower (again) ...this time using Linky Followers.

You can get started FOLLOWING my blog from my Linky Followers widget in the right-hand sidebar. (right on top).  >>>

You might want to sign up for the Linky Followers too. (and don't forget to give blog followers a head's up too -- so they can follow your blog as well! :)

silver hearts

Blogland is covered in hearts!! or have you noticed it yourself??? Well, Valentine's Day is coming up in 12 short days! (I thought the new year just started...where has the time gone!!??)

So I decided I'd join the party. I  had some heart stamps lying on the shelf that I've been meaning to use...and haven't gotten around to it. I stamped and embossed them with silver embossing powder. I'm always amazed at the whole new look a stamp gets when it's heat embossed. Of course since I had the Fiskars heart border punch on my shelf I had to use that one as well.

here's my card:

And just to give the card a special touch, I decided to "dress up" the inside of the card as well. It turned out a lot better than I thought it would.  :)

And yes...I had to add some butterflies to the card as well. Butterflies are romantic, right??? Well magical at least.... :)

I think that's enough hearts for one card, eh???  TFL :)

...or not. (I stamped another two tiny ones on the back of the card...just 'cause!) LOL

Thanks for dropping by....and have a good and crafty day.
God bless you :)
