Z Mini Album: Layouts 5 and 6

Hi guys. I'm back with the mini album I created for my son. Today's section has some interactive pages...as well as some half pages for some memorabilia or quotes/stats.

So here's the left page....

It folds open to reveal more layouts:

This section has extra "half pages" between the two layouts....
...these are "pocket pages" and have an "insert". I haven't quite decided what exactly I'm gonna do with the inserts. But at least the decorating part is done. :)

It was fun to get creative with this album! I love the interaction that it has going on. Thanks for dropping by to take a look. :)

Birthday Gifts

Hi guys. Another birthday card to showcase and enter into challenges. Today's card is basically using up scraps. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but I had fun with it....and I think I'll be making more of these in the future. They're cute and simple....and clean up a few scraps!!! WIN WIN WIN!!!!! :)

Bold and Bright Birthday

Hi guys. Today's card took me out of my comfort zone. I have a lot of pattern papers in my stash, but I find myself reaching for cardstock and my Cuttlebug folders for backgrounds instead of using the papers!!!! Yeah, just hoard the patterned paper forever!!!! :p

So I challenged myself to use some patterned paper for a card.

I absolutely love this paper line -- very brilliant and bold!

I also reused some flowers from a card I had received. I find it very difficult to throw out any cards I receive ....but there's just too many....and so I have started taking embellishments off the cards, so I can at least reuse them a bit...and not throw everything away.

So the flowers are from a completely different collection, but the colors fit together nicely, I think.

Of course I also added lots of bling...cause I love to make my cards sparkle! :)

Challenge complete! I love everything about this card! :) I'm happy....and gonna be making more cards with this patterned paper for sure! Super easy...and pretty. :)

Tied with a Bow

Hi guys. Another very quick birthday card to showcase. I loved working with the Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" folder. Embossing makes a card look elegant all on it's own...and you really don't need much else to "spruce it up'. So todays' card is very Clean and Simple - just the way I love them!

I simply added a ribbon from my stash and some tiny white bling all over the background.

Z Mini Album: Layouts 3 and 4

I've been working on getting my 2nd son's baby mini album completed the last few days. Picking out the photos that I want included has been the most difficult part (there's so many photos and the album holds only so many!)

So anyways, I thought I'd do a quick post with some of the layouts i created for the mini.

Here's the full view of both pages side by side:

Then you have the interactive part of the pages that gives you more photo placing options:

These are quite simple pages, but they do include space for 7 photos. :)

So that's my showcase for today. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Classic Wedding Card

So Simon Says Stamp blog has a challenge to use our favourite technique. That's an easy one for me -- embossing. Dry embossing with my Cuttlebug. I love texture on cards and projects -- and embossing folders make that happen so easy and fast!

Here's my card for the challenge:

Love is EVERYTHING

Hi guys. I have a wedding card to show.

I've recently discovered just how much fun embossing folders with a very continuous pattern can be. I must admit, they're the embossing folders I've kind of been overlooking in the past year or so...but now I've found a new love for them. All they need are lots of bling...and they're magnificent!

This is a recent card I made using a flower embossing folder that came with my Cuttlebug. I'm not sure about the name of it.

It's simple, but there's lots of sparkle, which is perfect for a wedding card. :)

It turned out very well...and I made a couple of similar cards in various shades of colors. There's just something about bling...

Thanks for stopping by.

Z Mini Album: Layouts 1 and 2

Hi guys. I want to share my latest project with you. My baby book for my second son Zander.

Mini albums. They're the new "scrapbooks" and I love them! You can get so creative with them...plus I love the interactive stuff that happens on the pages. So when I decided to get my second son's baby pictures scrapboooked, I chose the Mini Album route. It's still in pieces, and I have yet to print the pictures  -- although I've finally picked the first 6 months, which is a feat on it's own) YEAH!!! :p .

The mini is 6x6. The pages are a little bit smaller. I wanted most of the pictures to be either 4x3 or 2x3, with the page inserts holding 4x4. It's easier for me to print out those actual sizes and therefore not having to cut up too many 4x6 pictures.

Here's layout #1. It's fairly simple.
** I have yet to add the insert behind the photo mat, which will have the baby's info. Name, DOB, weight and length.

Here's layout #2

This page is interactive.
Firstly, the envelope holds a small pull-out, which opens up to hold two 2x3 photos

Then the flap opens to reveal three more photo mats.

So there's the first two pages. I'll be back with the rest of it...in time. (due the high number of pictures in the posts, I'll be doing multiple posts.)

Hope you have great day! :) Thanks for stopping by. :)

Sparkle up the Blues

Hi guys. It's wedding season again...and my wedding card stash is almost finished. So I made a couple wedding cards...

Here's the first.

I've had this "Baby's Breath" embossing folder for over year now, but I actually never used it cause the pattern was too repetitive. I saw some cards on Pinterest using bling on the embossing...which worked great for very repetitive embossing folders. So I gave it a shot...

I also used some lace, which always adds a bit of an extra detail to any card. Finally I added two butterflies from my stash...although I do believe they are a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment stamp is from a Stampin Up collection.

conGRADs

Hi guys. It's Graduation season again. :) So today I have a grad card to showcase. It's pretty simple, but I like them that way. :)

Basically all I used was various scraps from my stash...and threw on a diploma sticker...and finished it off with a sentiment stamp (from the dollar bin at Michaels). Simple, but to the point. :)

Happy Graduation graduates! And hope the rest of you have a great day. :)

Cross with a Flower

Hi guys. I have another favourite card to show off today. :) Like last time, I used the Darice cross embossing folder -- did I mention before what a big fan I am of the folder??? I love it!

Today's card is a lot simpler, but the embossing folder is so striking all on it's own, that you really don't have to do much else to make the cards stand out! Simplicity...and yes striking! Love CAS cards that come together so quickly!

And it's always a plus when I get to use scraps or punches/dies from my stash.

thanks for dropping by my blog. :) Have a great day! :)

Cross with Words

Hi guys. Today  I have a "favourite of the year" card to show off. I created this card for my brother and I'm absolutely thrilled with how it turned out!!! A friend of mine had offered the embossing folder to me before, but I thought the embossing was too big for my cards,so I never tried it. Then I decided I wanted a big cross on my brother's card (it's for his baptism)...and decided to give the embossing folder a try....

the folder itself  is 5.75"x4.25" which is the exact size of my cards...and I really didn't want to make my cards any larger...but I cut out the cross...and it became just-JUST small enough to fit onto my card! WHEW!!!

and now I'm such a big fan. I'm getting one of those for myself -- I love it!

So anyways, enough with the ramblings -- here's the card.

I used dimensional foam behind the cross to lift it a bit...as well as behind the dove image (which is a Stampin Up stamp btw).

So that's my card for the day. Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments. :)

For My Mom with Hearts

Hi guys. I have another card to share. I finally got time to make my card for my mom for Mother's day. It was a little out of my comfort zone cause it's not as CAS as my usual cards, but I'm loving it more everytime I look at it. Hopefully my mom will like it as well. :)

A friend of mine sent me this word art she made a few years ago. I loved the sentiment, but didn't like the wordart the way she had created it. So I created my own sentiment using the quote she had sent me.

I wanted to incorporate hearts into the card, so I punched a border with the Fiskars Heart border punch. I added bling to accent the hearts. I love love love it!!! :)

I created the flower myself -- using four different punches. And of course I added a butterfly...just cause butterflies are always sweet. :)

Here's the full card. Love all the sparkle! <3 p="">

Thanks for coming by. :)

It's about the Sentiment

Hi guys. So I have a few minutes to show off a card I made this week. It's a Sympathy/Thinking of You type of card -- never a fun card to make, but one we require all too often. So I always like to have them in stock....

Today's card features one of my favourite stamps for this type of card. I'm actually not sure exactly what the stamp set it called (I borrowed it from a friend and stamped a few extra sentiments for when I want them in the future)...but it's a beautiful sentiment.

I also used a border embossing folder that I haven't used in much too long. I always love adding textures to my cards...just a bit more detail. :)

So here's the card:

Thanks for stopping by...and your comments are always appreciated. :)

One Sheet Wonder

Hi guys. I saw the Simon Says "Happy Birthday" challenge...and since I have a birthday card in my "One Sheet Wonder" card set that I made, I decided to do a quick post. :)

I had a lovely sheet of paper with some foil (that shines) that I finally decided to cut up and use for some cards. It's been in my stash forever, and I just haven't been able to bring myself to use it! So I took the plunge...and made the first cut... :p

Here's the set of cards I created (very CAS).

I managed to capture the shine on the paper!!! :)

Here's the individual cards:

"Thank You":

"Birthday":

"Wedding/Occasion":

"Thinking of You":
