Happy Easter

Hi everyone!! How are you doing on this fine Easter monring??? Hope you get to spend time with family and friends...as we remember our Savior's suffering for our sins. And most importantly, His resurrection...so that we could have new life in Him. :) How awesome is that!

Just wanted to share a quick card I made for Easter. I won a set of stamps by CHF called "Glory of Easter" last year (right  after  Easter of course!)...and I've been waiting to use them ever since! It's an amazing stamp set! And I love them! (clear stamps don't come close to rubber/cling-ons!)

And here's my card:

I embossed the background with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder. Coloured the "crown of thorns" with a golden gel pen to give it the shine. I'm really impressed with how it turned out! Love love love the stamp set! :) TFL

I'm entering the card into these challenges:

Back with a Baptism Card

Hi guys. I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything! I don't have a camra around these days (other than my ipod) which has kind of been keeping me from showcasing new cards. It's definitely something I've had to get used to -- and after a couple weeks of not posting, I've decided to give my ipod camra (low quality photos) another shot. I'm sure you'll get the basic idea of the card, and hopefully I'll get some better photos of my cards soon so I can showcase them better.

So enough about that. :p On to the card...

This card is for a friend's baptism. A lot of young people in my church are getting baptized around Easter time....so this time each year has me making lots of baptism cards. It's a good thing my mojo is in good form right now -- 'cause I don't really like to make too many of the same cards (although mass production of a select few favourites always does happen).

I actually picked up this paper from a garage sale last year, so I honestly don't know what the line is called. But whatever it was, I absolutely loved it! :) The coloured paper on the first layer actually has a print on it, but it's so faint you hardly notice it. Out of curiousity I put it through my cuttlebug to see if it would look good even if there was a pattern on it, and I was impressed with the results. I actually cuttlebugged the whole sheet 'cause I loved the look so much! But after trying it with other printed paper, I quickly discovered that the end result is not always as great. I would suggest using only plain cardstock or only lightly printed paper when you cuttlebug.

The cross stamp is from a stamp set called "The Glory of Easter" that I won last April (right after Easter of course). It's been sitting on my shelf for close to a year now, and I was so excited to finally have a reason to use it. I absolutely love love love this set!

I borrowed the border punch (fiskars Apron Lace border punch), which is one of my favourites. I seriously need to get to a Michael's Craft store soon so I can buy some supplies and punches. It's amazing how difficult that is at times! :p

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to come visit my blog. I'd like to encourage all my readers (once again) to follow my blog using Linky Followers since the Google followers is apparently supposed to stop working as of tonight! :( So link on up -- I don't want to lose my faithful followers!!!!!!!!!

Bling and Squares

I borrowed some Fiskars punches -- the scalloped square and circle -- and  I thought it would be so simple to come up with a design that I could incoorperate them into. I quickly discovered that I had a challenge on my hands, 'cause nothing I tried worked out the way I wanted. :( LOL

After a lot of tries and failures, I've finally made a card I like! Actually I love it! :) Love cards with bling...and this one has the bling as the centerpoint, which is cool! :) Gotta love bling! :)

I embossed the background and put the "wrong" side on top, which with my camra unfortunately is hard to pick up....cause the embossing doesn't pop as much as it could. White is tough to take pictures of...and have all the details come through. Hopefully you can get the idea...'cause the colouring isn't very good either. :p

Cards for Easter

Someone ordered 10 Easter cards! Honestly, I was a bit stressed...'cause I was running low on supplies, low on mojo (I had just completed a big order the previous day) and basically had no ideas whatsoever!!!

I love love love online galleries!!! I found a few card sketches I liked...and set to work. LOL Apparently stress makes my mojo flow!!! Who knew!! :p At the end of the day, I had a whole set of cards that I loved. You might not to able to tell, but I managed to use up scraps at the same time!!! I'm totally happy with how these turned out! :) TFL

My first ettempt at an Easter card

I wasn't sure whether I was gonna even try making Easter cards this year -- then I got an order for one! And it had to be a "serious type" versus the fun types that so many people are making. (and like the ones I had thought I'd try lifting if I attempted a card). But, I did find an idea in a gallery and then set out to lift it.

This is what I came up with.

I was surprised how well the flowers turned out -- especially since I made the pattern...and was basically clueless about the whole process for the most part. I'm not 100% satisfied with how they look, but pretty happy nonetheless. And the card's overall look -- love it! And seriously, as long as the customer's happy, everyone's happy, right??? TFL
