Today's card is a wedding card I made. I love making wedding cards sparkle -- so the more bling I can get on a wedding card, the better I feel. LOL

I used an embossing folder....and added bling to every single little flower. It's a cool effect, and I can add a pop of color to the embossing.

Classic Wedding Card

So Simon Says Stamp blog has a challenge to use our favourite technique. That's an easy one for me -- embossing. Dry embossing with my Cuttlebug. I love texture on cards and projects -- and embossing folders make that happen so easy and fast!

Sparkle up the Blues

Hi guys. It's wedding season again...and my wedding card stash is almost finished. So I made a couple wedding cards...

Here's the first.

I've had this "Baby's Breath" embossing folder for over year now, but I actually never used it cause the pattern was too repetitive. I saw some cards on Pinterest using bling on the embossing...which worked great for very repetitive embossing folders. So I gave it a shot...

I also used some lace, which always adds a bit of an extra detail to any card. Finally I added two butterflies from my stash...although I do believe they are a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment stamp is from a Stampin Up collection.

One Sheet Wonder

Hi guys. I saw the Simon Says "Happy Birthday" challenge...and since I have a birthday card in my "One Sheet Wonder" card set that I made, I decided to do a quick post. :)

I had a lovely sheet of paper with some foil (that shines) that I finally decided to cut up and use for some cards. It's been in my stash forever, and I just haven't been able to bring myself to use it! So I took the plunge...and made the first cut... :p

Almost All White Wedding

Hi guys. Today is my third anniversary. <3 :="" a="" card...to="" decided="" go="" i="" nbsp="" occasion.="" p="" showcase="" so="" the="" to="" wedding="" with="">

I made this card for a friend's wedding...and I love how it turned out. Yes, it's Pinterest inspired (love love love Pinterest!) ...and happens to be one of the tougher (for me) themes...using mostly white papers.

I borrowed the embossing folder from a friend, but unfortunately I don't know the name of the folder. The Daisy punch is a Fiskars punch...and the sentiment is from a Stampin Up set.

Something old, something new, something borrowed...but nothing blue! :p LOL

Hi guys. Wedding season is in full swing again. That means lots of wedding cards to create for me...as family members and friends alike are on the list of people getting married. :) What a joyous time!

So here's the wedding card I created today. I wanted to keep it CAS style for a challenge I found at "The Card Concept". They have a wedding theme challenge on right now. I chose the Clean and Layered option.

and since Simon Says Stamps has a "Make it Sparkle" challenge...I decided to bling it up with "diamons".

Summer-y Yellow

Hi guys. Just wanted to do a quick post on a card I made. I colored the image myself...and then used a beautiful scalloped circle spellbinder die for a border. Embossed a few lines on the background paper to give a little detail with my Martha Stewart scorepal...and added some black bling. :) I'm feeling a little summer-y. :)

On your SPECIAL day

Hi guys. Today I made my first card of the year! :p I've been busy with other things -- taking care of my almost 1-year-old for the most part. But he's a joy...so card making can take a back seat. :)

Today I created a card for a special occasion. I was thinking wedding...but I guess it could be used for whatever occasion the giver has in mind.

I used a beautiful embossing folder called " ". I love the textured look -- and even just a strip of it on a card makes a statement.

I also punched two different butterfly punches and created one butterfly. It's a great effect...especially when you use two different colors.

Lastly, I stamped a beautiful sentiment from Stampabilities...and of courses added bling to make it sparkle a bit. :)

Happiness Always

Hi guys. Today on Simon Says Stamps blog, they have an "Anything Goes" challenge. Up for grabs is an amazing prize...so I figured I'd try my luck and enter. (keeping my fingers crossed!)

I made a quick card, cause these days there just aren't enough hours in a day to spend time crafting. I love the Clean and Simple cards, so that's really not much of a problem when I need a card and don't have a whole lot of time to create it.

This card was made using an embossing folder that has a plain border on it. I absolutely love it! Very simple...and you can make it look elegant with just a few little extras. :)

Background Stamping

Hi guys! I'm back again to show off my latest creation. :)

I've always loved the look of cards with script stamping. Those big block rubber background stamps give cards such cool details -- especially when you don't necessarily want to add texture to the card and just want to use ink and stamps. So when I got the chance to use the Stampin Up "script, Irish Blessing" stamp, I went for it! It was a learning process that's for sure...

After inking up the stamp, I tried stamping it onto my cardstock...only to discover that I wasn't pressing hard enough or something, 'cause what I got was cardstock with the inked image...and lots of empty spaces where nothing had transferrred!!! So I tried again. This time I made sure to precisely ink up the WHOLE stamp (in case that was the problem) and then stamped it on my cardstock, making sure I pressed really hard on every part of the block. Same result!!! Grr!!! I was getting frustrated!! Not to mention wasting perfectly good cardstock!!! :(

Finally, after multiple attempts and the same results, I decided to try a different approach. This time I inked up the block stamp...but instead of stamping onto the cardstock, I took the cardstock and pressed it onto my stamp (which was lying upright on the table of course). I made sure to lightly press all over the cardstock...and when I pulled the cardstock off the stamp...what do you know -- a perfectly stamped background!!! :)

Trial and error. Lots of patience. I've learned something new. And next time I won't be afraid of wasting cardstock, 'cause this technique is now tried and true -- and works everytime! (I stamped multiple backgrounds so I know it wasn't just luck. :p It really works everytime!)

Anyways, enough of about all that stamping drama!!! I'm sure you all want to see my card, eh???

I stamped the Script background stamp with red ink. Next, I stamped a beautiful  LOVE clear stamp onto some plain white Vellum paper I've had in my stash forever.

I love Vallum on cards, but it just never seems to fit for any of my cards. With this stamped background it was perfect! :) I love that you can see the script underneath, but it's not so overpowering and the "Love" stamp is still the focal point of the card.

Finally, I added two tiny butterfly cutouts and of course some bling. :)

It's a simple card, but because of the stamped background paper there's still lots of detail. Background stamps are soooooooooo cool!!! :)

Another Wedding Theme

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I've posted...buy it's summertime...which gets really busy around here...and there's not a whole lot of time spent at my crafting table. But every now I then, when I need a break from the other activities and stuff, I head on over there and make a card or two.

Here's one I lifted off a wedding card I found online. I loved the idea of the hearts being the bride/groom, etc.

 

 I must say, it turned out better than I thought it would -- even if I only had a Scalloped Heart punch and I wanted a plain-edged heart. It worked out either way. :)

White Elegance

It's that time of year again -- wedding season. It's in full-swing right now -- lots of friends and acquaintances getting married this year! I was running short on cards for Weddings, so I set out to make some.

Right now, when it comes to Wedding cards I think of soft pastels and lots of white. White sound boring to you??? Well, I do mean Cuttlebug the white cardstock so there's lots of texture on the card! LOL Can't have the cards boring -- Cuttlebugging adds so much elegance! :)

Here's one of my latest creations.

As I mentioned, I used my Cuttlebug on the white cardstock. There are two different border embossing folders used here -- I figured, variety -- it IS after all, "the spice of life!" :) The set is called "Just my Type". It features five different folders -- I used two of them.

The rest of it is pretty basic. Borrowed the beautiful sentiment stamp from a fellow crafter...and added some punched butterflies. (If you know me, you know I love butterflies -- and they fit soooooo perfectly with a wedding theme. :)

Black & White Congrats

Hi guys! :) Is there anything more classy than a black & white card??? No matter for what occassion, black and white cards are always striking. I got one with a wedding gift, and despite how simple it was, it's a favourite. There's just something about that colour combination.

I have a feeling I'll be needing quite a lot of wedding cards once the wedding season gets started for this year. So when I have a moment or two to spare, I sit down and create wedding cards, just to have on hand.

I used my Organic Borders folder to cuttlebug the borders. Then I stamped the flower image on the white paper...and added my stamped sentiment over top. Simple, yet striking.  :)

silver hearts

Blogland is covered in hearts!! or have you noticed it yourself??? Well, Valentine's Day is coming up in 12 short days! (I thought the new year just started...where has the time gone!!??)

So I decided I'd join the party. I  had some heart stamps lying on the shelf that I've been meaning to use...and haven't gotten around to it. I stamped and embossed them with silver embossing powder. I'm always amazed at the whole new look a stamp gets when it's heat embossed. Of course since I had the Fiskars heart border punch on my shelf I had to use that one as well.

And just to give the card a special touch, I decided to "dress up" the inside of the card as well. It turned out a lot better than I thought it would.  :)

And yes...I had to add some butterflies to the card as well. Butterflies are romantic, right??? Well magical at least.... :)

I think that's enough hearts for one card, eh???  TFL :)

...or not. (I stamped another two tiny ones on the back of the card...just 'cause!) LOL

On Your Wedding Day

I saw a card online awhile back -- had a ribbon with two rings. Loved the idea from the start -- just something to give a wedding card a little something else. :)

So when the card sketch for our card lifters group turned out to be a basic rectangle with a window and a ribbon, I decided to go for it. The background is dry embossed (wedding bells) -- and I lifted the tag in the middle just a little to give the card a little more dimension. TFL :)

Love is in the Air!

It's that time of year again -- summertime..with lots of people getting married. I made a batch of wedding cards yesterday -- and I must say they turned out so much better than I had hoped! These are my first attempts (ever!) at wedding cards, so I'm very impressed! Gotta love the butterflies -- somehow they make even the boring-est looking cards look amazing! :) TFL

Butterfly fly away!

Hi there! As you might have noticed (due to my lack of posting recently) I've been taking a bit of a break from card making. Except of course to make some last-second cards for events that are happening, but other than that I've found other things to do. :) Plus, it's summer time...and when the sun is shining it's more fun to spend time outdoors (suntanning or something! LOL) than inside making cards.

I few friends of mine are getting married in the next few months, and I need to get started on making some wedding cards. I saw some fabulous ones in the fiskateer gallery and decided to try lifting one.

I don't have a butterfly punch -- haven't seen one I like...but hopefully next Wpg trip I'll actually find something! But I really love the various butterflies people are constantly adding to their cards. So I found some online...and printed them out. Cutting them out was a bit tricky at times, but I managed.

I also created the word art on my computer and printed it out...and then used fiskar fancy-edge-sciccors to cut out the scalloped look. Added some bling...and I have one card all finished!!! I must say, I'm impressed with how well it turned out!!! :) TFL
