One of a Kind

Hi guys. Today I have a sweet pink card to show yo. I saw a card in Google images where they had attatched a metal embellishment to a ribbon (no bow in sight!) and I thought it was  a great idea! For one, my ribbons-tying skills need some major practice...and when I have to spend too much time trying to tie a bow perfectly, it makes things complicated. :p

So here's an easy card. It's very simple...yet I love the elegance of it. :) The most time consuming part was adding the tiny bling to my embossed flowers, but I guess you could skip that step if you want to make a card in a hurry! Cuttlebugging looks good on it's own. :)

Here's my card.

This card sketch is definitely going into my saved card sketches folder. It's quick, easy...and looks amazing no matter what! One can never have too many of THOSE sketches, now can we??? :)

I've had this charm in my stash for forever! Sometimes I find it hard to use supplies that I love...just 'cause then they're gone! LOL But I guess it's time to use them...and help brighten someone else's day, eh???

Have a great day...and God bless you. :) Thanks for dropping by. :)

Black White & One

Hi guys. Here's a look at another card I made using the Upsy Daisy stamp set by Stampin Up!.  This stamp set has six different sentiments -- and I've absolutely loved playing around with it. :)

This time I only inked up the image once. There's definitely something wonderful about silhouette images -- love them! :) Especially flowers. (something on my "to buy" list for sure!)

I once again used my Cuttlebug to create the textured background. This folder is called "Victorian" and it's one of my favourites. so pretty! I used the Fiskars Effervescence border punch on my red "accent" colour paper....to give the card a little more detail. I just love border punches! :) And finally I added a white sheer ribbon...which I won (could have been from RRR??? I'm not quite sure anymore -- but it's the last of it, so I have to get more! Love it! :)

Masculine Birthday

Hi guys. Today I want to show you a masculine card I made. These cards always the hardest for me to make -- 'cause cards tend to look flowery or "girly" very fast -- especially when you start to add embellishments....like ribbons.
I used a sketch from a friend -- it's also a great sketch if you're looking to clean up scraps. I'm definitely keeping it around for the future...'cause there's always scraps that need to be taken care of! :)
Here's the card:
I used a clear stamp to stamp the "grey/light black" image of the candles, and then stamped my Birthday sentiment over it with black. I cut the spellbinder and inked up the edges to make it "pop" a bit. (and yes -- I even used a bit of ribbon...but it doesn't make the card any bit girly, now does it?!) Guess it all depends on what you do with the ribbon. (something to note for myself).

So that's it -- another C - A - S card :)

For You

hi guys. I've been having fun stamping the last few days...and my inked fingers are a good indication that I actually got things done! :)

I borrowed a stamp set from a friend, and went to work on some sketches I've been wanting to try, but didn't have a big enough silhouette image to use. It was so much fun! (I was still stamping at 10pm last night!!!) :p But that's just me -- when I get started, I have to finish the project -- can't leave it unfinished. Especially when I have some mojo flowing! :)

Here's the card.

It's a Clean and Simple look -- 'cause I just LOVE that look! :) simplicity has always worked best for me.

I double stamped the image -- first with a greyish/black ink and then with a dark black ink. It definitely gives it a cool effect. Reminds me of a shadow. :)

Whatcha think???

Happy Easter

Hi everyone!! How are you doing on this fine Easter monring??? Hope you get to spend time with family and friends...as we remember our Savior's suffering for our sins. And most importantly, His resurrection...so that we could have new life in Him. :) How awesome is that!

Just wanted to share a quick card I made for Easter. I won a set of stamps by CHF called "Glory of Easter" last year (right  after  Easter of course!)...and I've been waiting to use them ever since! It's an amazing stamp set! And I love them! (clear stamps don't come close to rubber/cling-ons!)

And here's my card:

I embossed the background with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder. Coloured the "crown of thorns" with a golden gel pen to give it the shine. I'm really impressed with how it turned out! Love love love the stamp set! :) TFL

I'm entering the card into these challenges:

100 followers candy

Hi peeps! My blog officially has 100+ followers!!! I'm impressed!!! :) I guess I'm doing something right. :p

April is also my birthday month...so I'm combining the two and sending a lucky follower a little something to help me celebrate. :) The candy is a Schoffie's clear stamp that I had in my stash. I won it in a candy awhile back, but it doesn't work for my style of card making. If you're interested in giving this stamp a new home, sign on up!

1.  Would be great if you were a follower of my blog, but is not a requirement...as I only want people to follow if they TRULY want to! Not just to join a candy :p

Monday...and a giveaway

Hi guys! Hope you're having a great crafting day. :) I'm busy working on a sewin project -- making a log cabin patchwork quilt for my mom. It's the first time I've ever attempted a quilt this size all by myself, and I must say it's quite a challenge, but it is coming together nicely. :) Perhaps by the end of the week I'll be able to post a picture of my finished work -- that is...if things go smoothly! LOL :p

So for today I don't have a card to showcase, but I do have a giveaway and a new blog to let you know about. Kristen has a $100 Scrapbook.com gift certificate she is giving away!!! Why??? She's opened a new blog -- Kristen Wilson Handmade  and she would love to get some followers. So hop on over and take a look around. If you are interested, become a follower and enter to win $100 gift certificate. Easy. Simple. :)

Also I noticed I have over 100 followers!!!! Like wow!!!!! It's been so interesting to watch the number grow -- and all the feedback I get from you guys...makes blogging that much more fun! :) So I just want to say "thank you!"....and keep your eyes peeled for a small giveaway on my blog in the next few days. April is my birthday month, so I figured I'd do a little blog candy to celebrate both -- my birthday and my faithful followers. :) So check back...
