3 Wisemen

Hi guys. Yes, I'm back again to show off another Christmas card. I've had this stamped image in my stash for two years now, and finally decided it was time to use it! It's about time, eh?

I didn't want to do a whole lot with the background, cause I wanted the stamp to be the focus point.

Just added some punched borders and matted it on my white embossed cardstock. Not too much to this one, but I like it. Let the image do all the work...

Here's the full view:

supplies used:

Cuttlebug Folder: Argyle
Fiskars punch: Lace
Bling from stash
Stamped image from stash (not sure what it's called)

Christmas is Coming & Some Giveaways

Hi guys...I'm back with another Christmas card to share with you. This one features ribbon. Ribbon is one embellishment that I love to see on cards, but when I try using it on one of mine, they often don't turn out quite right.

This card actually turned out the way I had it planned in my head. :) Thanks to an online friend, I have the Easy Bow maker to help make the perfect bows.

The Easy Bow Maker doesn't look like a whole lot, but it makes perfect bows every time...and saves lots of time trying to get the bows look pretty. It's definitely a time-saver. :)

Here's the full view of the card:

supplies used:

Inkadinkado Christmas Silhouette Stamps
Cuttlebug Folder -- Victorian
Ribbon from Stash
Red Bling

Also want to let you know about an amazing giveaway. Nicole's Stamp Addiction is having a Thank You giveaway -- 50 promarkers!!! I have never used one of these markers, but if you're into using stamped images for your cards, this giveaway is for you! They look like a lot of fun to play around with. :) Her giveaway ends when she reaches 3450 followers -- so head on over to Nicole's Stamp Addiction and sign up. You can't win if you don't try. :)

Also, The Scrapbook Garden is having a fabulous November/December giveaway. Head on over to her blog to get all the details. You could be the winner of this:

I've never actually tried Distress Inks, but from the tutorials I've seen using them, they look like sooooooo much fun! And there so many different ways of using them! I would love to win this! :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon is having a pre-holiday blog candy. I have been the lucky winner of the RRR blog hop twice (they have one every month with an amazing ribbon prize), so from experience I know their ribbons are awesome! They are great quality and great looking too! :) Plus, their pre-holiday giveaway has a lot of extras. Head on over the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog to read all the details.

And if you're looking to be further inspired with Christmas related cards and projects, head on over to the At Studio D blog. They're having a 25 days of Christmas giveaway -- and there's lots of inspiration to find there as we head into the Christmas season.

For a Sad Occasion

Hi guys. Today I have a very simple card to showcase. Nobody likes making cards for sad occasions, but it's during those times when a card from a friend helps and means so much! Just letting someone know you care -- what better reason could there be to send/mail off a card?

I used the Stampin Up "Thoughts and Prayers" stamp set again. I love love love this set! It's so versatile! :) ...and it makes even the simplest cards look striking. I also embossed the background with my Victoria embossing folder to give the card a little texture. Finally, I added two punched out butterflies (not sure of the punch name or brand) from my stash and added some bling to make them pop a little. :)

I also added pop dots to the whole card...just to give it a little dimension and keep things a little different. I love how it turned out! :)

I found a few challenges to enter this card into:

The Cuttlebug Spot is having a "What's on Your Desk?" challenge. Here's what I found lying around...and decided to get another card made with the Stampin' Up stamp set. :)

Something Here, Something There

Hi guys! I love my Cuttlebug!!! :) I got it for a wedding gift...and I must say it's the best crafting gift I 've ever gotten!!! There's so much you can do with it! :) And it's perfect for creating the Clean and Simple cards that I love. A little texture adds so much to an otherwise boring card.

Here's a card I made using up some Cuttlebugged textures I have in my "scraps".

A few layers here....

                 a stamp there...

                                 some punched butterflies here...

and finished off with a few tiny bling..

Here's the finished card:

Thanks for dropping by. Have a blessed day :)

Another Wedding Theme

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I've posted...buy it's summertime...which gets really busy around here...and there's not a whole lot of time spent at my crafting table. But every now I then, when I need a break from the other activities and stuff, I head on over there and make a card or two.

Here's one I lifted off a wedding card I found online. I loved the idea of the hearts being the bride/groom, etc.

I must say, it turned out better than I thought it would -- even if I only had a Scalloped Heart punch and I wanted a plain-edged heart. It worked out either way. :)

Thanks for  stopping by. Hope your summer is fun-filled...just like it's suppose to be :)

CAS Gift Set

Hi guys. Today I want to show you a card gift set I made. I wanted to make something for a friend of mine's birthday...and I thought a set of blank cards is always a nice gift to get, so why not? :) I hope she likes them. :)

They are very plain and simple. Basically I used one of the ribbons from the spring collection from Really Reasonable Ribbons...and used some metal embellishments and some bling to spice them up a bit.

I must say, I find adding the charms a bit of a challenge (mostly 'cause I don't use a whole lot of bows on my projects). but I love this simple way of adding the charms to the ribbons...so I tried it here....

supplies used:

Cuttlebug folders:
"Victorian" and "Just My Type"
Upsy Daisy Stamp Set
Really Reasonable Ribbon
Metal Embellishments from stash
Pearls from stash

Challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge Blog -- Things with Wings
Paper Playtime -- Anything Goes

One of a Kind

Hi guys. Today I have a sweet pink card to show yo. I saw a card in Google images where they had attatched a metal embellishment to a ribbon (no bow in sight!) and I thought it was  a great idea! For one, my ribbons-tying skills need some major practice...and when I have to spend too much time trying to tie a bow perfectly, it makes things complicated. :p

So here's an easy card. It's very simple...yet I love the elegance of it. :) The most time consuming part was adding the tiny bling to my embossed flowers, but I guess you could skip that step if you want to make a card in a hurry! Cuttlebugging looks good on it's own. :)

Here's my card.

This card sketch is definitely going into my saved card sketches folder. It's quick, easy...and looks amazing no matter what! One can never have too many of THOSE sketches, now can we??? :)

I've had this charm in my stash for forever! Sometimes I find it hard to use supplies that I love...just 'cause then they're gone! LOL But I guess it's time to use them...and help brighten someone else's day, eh???

Have a great day...and God bless you. :) Thanks for dropping by. :)

Black White & One

Hi guys. Here's a look at another card I made using the Upsy Daisy stamp set by Stampin Up!.  This stamp set has six different sentiments -- and I've absolutely loved playing around with it. :)

This time I only inked up the image once. There's definitely something wonderful about silhouette images -- love them! :) Especially flowers. (something on my "to buy" list for sure!)

I once again used my Cuttlebug to create the textured background. This folder is called "Victorian" and it's one of my favourites. so pretty! I used the Fiskars Effervescence border punch on my red "accent" colour paper....to give the card a little more detail. I just love border punches! :) And finally I added a white sheer ribbon...which I won (could have been from RRR??? I'm not quite sure anymore -- but it's the last of it, so I have to get more! Love it! :)

I'm entering this card into Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge:

Shades of Brown

hi guys. I'm back with some cards to show you. They're basically the same, with a few slight differences (you might have to look hard to find them!) :p

Anyways, I love shades of brown. It used to be an "ugly" color, but since I started scrapping and cardmaking, I have found that brown is one of my favourite colours to work with. Not only does it make a great combo colour for a lot of colours (pinks, greens, blues, reds. etc.) but it also looks great standing alone. :)

Whatch think of these cards??? I really didn't have a plan when I started them, but they came together nicely -- and turned out a lot better than I had planned :) That's always a nice surprise :)
Here's a close up of the second card -- love this embossing folder! and of course the bling! :)

The Stamping Boutique -- CAS (clean and simple)
Craft Room challenge -- Bling

And before I go, I just want to give a shout out to Really Reasonable Ribbons. Every month they put on a blog hop with their newest bunch of ribbons as the prize package. I've won this prize a year or so ago, and I absolutely LOVED the ribbons I received! They were beautiful, fun and just so classy! :) So when I see that they're having another blog hop, I usually take the time to check it out. Why not??? I can always find inspiration on different ideas for ribbons on my projects. :) And this month, I was the lucky winner!!! Whooo-hooo!!! This package is gonna be so much fun to use!! :) And yes!!! there's even lots of Baker's twine in there! I've been wanting to try my hands on that stuff! :)

If you're interested in winning a similar prize package -- go over to the Really Reasonable Ribbons blog and sign up to be a follower....and hop along on the next blog hop. You just might be the next winner -- and get tons of inspiration as well! Good luck! :)

Black & White Congrats

Hi guys! :) Is there anything more classy than a black & white card??? No matter for what occassion, black and white cards are always striking. I got one with a wedding gift, and despite how simple it was, it's a favourite. There's just something about that colour combination.

I have a feeling I'll be needing quite a lot of wedding cards once the wedding season gets started for this year. So when I have a moment or two to spare, I sit down and create wedding cards, just to have on hand.

Here's my latest card: (sorry about the bad photo -- lighting issues)

better view of the Cuttlebugging:

I used my Organic Borders folder to cuttlebug the borders. Then I stamped the flower image on the white paper...and added my stamped sentiment over top. Simple, yet striking.  :)

Whatcha think??? Leave me a comment letting me know -- I love hearing your thoughts. :)

Scrappy Thanks

Hi bloggers! I'm back to show off another card :) Just a question -- has anybody else in blogland been having problems when you try to upload pictures to your posts??? I've been getting errors like 90% of the time!! It's pure luck if/when a picture actually uploads!!!! :( Please blogger -- FIX IT! It's seriously getting on my nerves!!! :p

Anyways, enough about that. I have soooooo many scraps lying on my crafting table...and my scraps bin is almost full to overflowing!!! :o Guess that's what happens when you don't use up scraps for a long, long time! :p

I played around with scraps for a bit...cuttlebugged a scrap here, stamped an image there....and I had a card! Yeah! And I cleaned up a few scraps in the process!!! :) (I'm sooooooo proud of myself!) LOL

The more I look at it, the more I like it :) The colours didn't pick up very nicely -- the papers are really shades of rust/brownish...but I guess you do get the general idea. And those Fiskars "Love A Latte" Clear Stamps really should be used a whole lot more than they are! :p  TFL :)
