Masculine Card using a Butterfly Stamp

Hi guys. I'm taking a bit of a break from Christmas cards today.

I wanted to make a card for one of my uncles -- was thinking of a "Praying for You" or "Thinking of You".

Now I know, those cards are not very difficult cards to make usually....

until I tried to make it masculine.....

and include a butterfly stamp at the same time...

Now THAT proved to be a tough one to make!!!!

I ended up with a pretty Clean and Simple card, which wasn't what I had in mind when I first started...

       .....BUT....

I did manage to use a butterfly stamp on the card and still have it look masculine!!!

That's an accomplishment!!! :)

Using some orange/brown cardstock, I embossed the border with one of the "Just My Type" embossing folders. Then I layered the cardstock on white and finally on some black cardstock.  Using the same orange/brown cardstock, I stamped one of the "Fanciful Butteflies" stamps from Sweet Stamps and then cut it out with scissors. Finally I stamped a "Thinking of You" sentiment on the card that I picked up from a Michael's bin. I'm happy with the way it turned out...hopefully it'll brighten my uncle's day. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Leave me a comment if you like what you see -- I love hearing from other people in the blogging world. And I'll drop by your blog as well... :)

Christmas is Coming & Some Giveaways

Hi guys...I'm back with another Christmas card to share with you. This one features ribbon. Ribbon is one embellishment that I love to see on cards, but when I try using it on one of mine, they often don't turn out quite right.

This card actually turned out the way I had it planned in my head. :) Thanks to an online friend, I have the Easy Bow maker to help make the perfect bows.

The Easy Bow Maker doesn't look like a whole lot, but it makes perfect bows every time...and saves lots of time trying to get the bows look pretty. It's definitely a time-saver. :)

Here's the full view of the card:

supplies used:

Inkadinkado Christmas Silhouette Stamps
Cuttlebug Folder -- Victorian
Ribbon from Stash
Red Bling

I have never used one of these markers, but if you're into using stamped images for your cards, this giveaway is for you! They look like a lot of fun to play around with. :) Her giveaway ends when she reaches 3450 followers -- so head on over to Nicole's Stamp Addiction and sign up. You can't win if you don't try. :)

Also, The Scrapbook Garden is having a fabulous November/December giveaway. Head on over to her blog to get all the details. You could be the winner of this:

I've never actually tried Distress Inks, but from the tutorials I've seen using them, they look like sooooooo much fun! And there so many different ways of using them! I would love to win this! :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon is having a pre-holiday blog candy. I have been the lucky winner of the RRR blog hop twice (they have one every month with an amazing ribbon prize), so from experience I know their ribbons are awesome! They are great quality and great looking too! :) Plus, their pre-holiday giveaway has a lot of extras. Head on over the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog to read all the details.

And if you're looking to be further inspired with Christmas related cards and projects, head on over to the At Studio D blog. They're having a 25 days of Christmas giveaway -- and there's lots of inspiration to find there as we head into the Christmas season.

Another Wedding Theme

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I've posted...buy it's summertime...which gets really busy around here...and there's not a whole lot of time spent at my crafting table. But every now I then, when I need a break from the other activities and stuff, I head on over there and make a card or two.

Here's one I lifted off a wedding card I found online. I loved the idea of the hearts being the bride/groom, etc.

I must say, it turned out better than I thought it would -- even if I only had a Scalloped Heart punch and I wanted a plain-edged heart. It worked out either way. :)

Thanks for  stopping by. Hope your summer is fun-filled...just like it's suppose to be :)

White Elegance

It's that time of year again -- wedding season. It's in full-swing right now -- lots of friends and acquaintances getting married this year! I was running short on cards for Weddings, so I set out to make some.

Right now, when it comes to Wedding cards I think of soft pastels and lots of white. White sound boring to you??? Well, I do mean Cuttlebug the white cardstock so there's lots of texture on the card! LOL Can't have the cards boring -- Cuttlebugging adds so much elegance! :)

Here's one of my latest creations.

As I mentioned, I used my Cuttlebug on the white cardstock. There are two different border embossing folders used here -- I figured, variety -- it IS after all, "the spice of life!" :) The set is called "Just my Type". It features five different folders -- I used two of them.

The rest of it is pretty basic. Borrowed the beautiful sentiment stamp from a fellow crafter...and added some punched butterflies. (If you know me, you know I love butterflies -- and they fit soooooo perfectly with a wedding theme. :)

So that's my card. Thanks for stopping by...and have a great and Godly day. :)
