Almost All White Wedding

Hi guys. Today is my third anniversary. <3 :="" a="" card...to="" decided="" go="" i="" nbsp="" occasion.="" p="" showcase="" so="" the="" to="" wedding="" with="">

I made this card for a friend's wedding...and I love how it turned out. Yes, it's Pinterest inspired (love love love Pinterest!) ...and happens to be one of the tougher (for me) themes...using mostly white papers.

I borrowed the embossing folder from a friend, but unfortunately I don't know the name of the folder. The Daisy punch is a Fiskars punch...and the sentiment is from a Stampin Up set.

Something old, something new, something borrowed...but nothing blue! :p LOL

God Bless You

Hi guys. I've been working on some cards the past week...and finally found a few moments to post one for you. :)

I have a new (for me) Cuttlebug folder that I've been wanting to use...but haven't had much success with using it on a card. It's a border folder...and it kind of requires a focal image in the center. This is what I came up with...

I used a stamping set from Stampin Up that I absolutely LOVE!!! I stamped the image...and then cut it out...and added some dimensional foam behind the cross to lift it a bit.

I also added some vallum which I stamped with the sentiment.

LOVE how it turned out...and I'll be sure to use this sketch a lot in the future! :)

Wedding Card

Hi guys. Wedding season is in full swing again. That means lots of wedding cards to create for me...as family members and friends alike are on the list of people getting married. :) What a joyous time!

So here's the wedding card I created today. I wanted to keep it CAS style for a challenge I found at "The Card Concept". They have a wedding theme challenge on right now. I chose the Clean and Layered option.

and since Simon Says Stamps has a "Make it Sparkle" challenge...I decided to bling it up with "diamons".

Thanks for stopping by. And please leave a comment. I love to hear feedback on my projects. :)

Mini Album

Hi guys. Today I want to show you a project I've been working on the last two days. I found this great tutorial for a mini album on Pinterest. I've tried making a mini album in the past (love the whole idea of it cause it's like a mini scrapbook...with a twist...cause you have to actually open flaps and stuff)...and they're so cool! ...but they never turned out quite like I imagined. This project was by far the easiest mini album I've tried so far...and I absolutely love the final result. :)

I used a Stampin' Up paper pack that I've had in my stash for awhile now. It was perfect...and I love all the different papers. The ribbons are also from my stash (some are Stampin' Up, some are just from the local Dollar Store). And of course I had to use some border punches. I think these ones are called "Arch Lattice" by Martha Stewart and "Daisy" by Fiskars.

So here's a look through the mini album. I'll more than likely add more embellishments once I add my photos...but I think you'll get the general feel of the album.

This is the front. It's still missing the title and the photo...

The first fold opens upward:

There are two pockets along the side that holds the two photo mats. The mats themselves are double sided...so there will be a total of four different photos.

On to the second "page"...
this tag and photo mat are stuck down...so no removing...

but then you flip up the right side...to find two more photo mats.

Moving on to page 3...
This is the most "hand's on" page. It has three different pockets that hold either tags or photo mats.

First off...there's a big photo mat in a pocket on top of the left page. This mat is double-sided...so there will be two big photos.

Then there's obviously the two tags in the front of the left page. The tags have space for a photo in the back...which I'll probably end up turning around. So my photos will be shown...with journaling on the back. But I figured with no photos to display yet...I'd show the "journaling" side of the tags.

Finally, there's a two-sided photo mat in a pocket on the right page as well. Space for two different photos.

And when you close the book...this is the back view.

Have I inspired you to try one of these for yourself? Here's the link to a great tutorial. It's not complicated at all...and it's made from a basic 12x12 sheet of paper (cardstock or printed -- though I'd suggest you go with a two-sided thicker paper 'cause then you have the background papers already there...and just have to add the tags and the embellishments.) But that's all up to you. :) Enjoy! :)

To my Husband

Hi guys. It's Father's Day today and I thought I'd share a card I made for the occasion. This one isn't actually for MY father, but for my husband...but he's a dad...so it totally counts. :)

I decided to try a bit of a new style. I've always loved stamping...but for some occasions I just don't have the right stamps. And so I decided to use my printer and print out a sentiment instead...

I had some beautiful sparkly (or shiny) grey cardstock that I used for my background. It keeps it from being boring. I also added a strip of black paper on the left which I embossed with one of the border folders from the Cuttlebug "Just My Type" folder set. It adds a bit of texture to the card, which I always love.

So here's my card. Masculine cards are always the most difficult ones for me to make...but I'm loving how this one turned out. :)

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great and Godly day! :)

White on White

Hi guys. I absolutely love the look of the White on White cards, but I've only ever succeeded at making ONE! Why? Mainly because I like contrast...and white on white cards don't exactly have a whole lot of that. :p  So even if I start out with a white on white card, I somehow always add a splash or a touch of color...

Today I decided to really challenge myself. Create a White on White card with absolutely NO other color (except the black used to stamp my sentiment). Amazingly it actually wasn't that difficult...and I used up a few scraps from my bin at the same time! Win - win! :)

Here's my card:

Summer-y Yellow

Hi guys. Just wanted to do a quick post on a card I made. I colored the image myself...and then used a beautiful scalloped circle spellbinder die for a border. Embossed a few lines on the background paper to give a little detail with my Martha Stewart scorepal...and added some black bling. :) I'm feeling a little summer-y. :)

Creatable Borders

Hi guys. I've had a Marianne Design border creatable lying around for a long time...but couldn't come up with an idea of how to incorporate the border onto a card. The border is beautiful...but it's very wide...and just doesn't fit with most of my card layouts.

So I decided to look on Pinterest to see how other people used the dies...and found a great layout to try.

Here's the card I made:

Hmmmmm...I might have to bring this creatable out more often. :)

Thinking of you

Hey guys. I love the stamp set by Flourishes -- "Forget Me Not Notes". Today I want to show you a card I made using just one of the smaller stamps -- multiple times.

I simply stamped along the edge of my sentiment with different angles of the flower image...getting a very good looking border of flowers. Coloured it with copics...and stuck it onto a bunch of different layers of cardstock.

Finally, I added foam dots to the back of my image...and attached it to my background yellow cardstock. Of course, I first dry embossed the yellow with my new "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug folder. Love the effect of texture on cards!!! :)

And here's the final result:

It makes me think of spring - - something we can only dream of in this awful cold and looooooooong winter weather!!! So here's to spring hurrying up!!!!!!!! :)

L O V E

Hi guys. Today I'm showcasing the Valentine's day card I made fro my husband for this year. It's inspired by a card I found on Pinterest. I love that site for inspiration! :)

The sentiment was created digitally...which is always a great backup when you don't have the appropriate rubber stamp in your collection.

The letters are raised...so the card has a dimensional effect, which I always love on cards. Just adds a little something extra...

And here is the full card:

There's lots of layers -- but I love adding them to make the card pop more. :)

Happy Valentine's day!!!! :)

On your SPECIAL day

Hi guys. Today I made my first card of the year! :p I've been busy with other things -- taking care of my almost 1-year-old for the most part. But he's a joy...so card making can take a back seat. :)

Today I created a card for a special occasion. I was thinking wedding...but I guess it could be used for whatever occasion the giver has in mind.

I used a beautiful embossing folder called " ". I love the textured look -- and even just a strip of it on a card makes a statement.

I also punched two different butterfly punches and created one butterfly. It's a great effect...especially when you use two different colors.

Lastly, I stamped a beautiful sentiment from Stampabilities...and of courses added bling to make it sparkle a bit. :)

Guitar Card

Hi guys. So have you seen the challenge over at "Welcome to Flourishes"? It's a great challenge ...with an even greater prize...so go check it out. :)

I made a shaped card for my husband's birthday. He's big into music and plays the guitar...so when I saw a "guitar card" on Pinterest...I just had to try one myself.

There's a lot of parts to this card...and it did take quite some time to complete it, but I love how it turned out...

...and he loved it as well. :) So goal accomplished :)

Favourite Cards from 2013

Hey guys. I always love the posts that look back thru time to showcase favourite cards. I was going to do this post at the end of December, but we've had issues with our computer, so it's been postponed. But I decided to do it anyways -- even if we are a week into the new year. :p

So here's a few of my cards from 2013.
