Background Stamping

Hi guys! I'm back again to show off my latest creation. :)

I've always loved the look of cards with script stamping. Those big block rubber background stamps give cards such cool details -- especially when you don't necessarily want to add texture to the card and just want to use ink and stamps. So when I got the chance to use the Stampin Up "script, Irish Blessing" stamp, I went for it! It was a learning process that's for sure...

After inking up the stamp, I tried stamping it onto my cardstock...only to discover that I wasn't pressing hard enough or something, 'cause what I got was cardstock with the inked image...and lots of empty spaces where nothing had transferrred!!! So I tried again. This time I made sure to precisely ink up the WHOLE stamp (in case that was the problem) and then stamped it on my cardstock, making sure I pressed really hard on every part of the block. Same result!!! Grr!!! I was getting frustrated!! Not to mention wasting perfectly good cardstock!!! :(

Finally, after multiple attempts and the same results, I decided to try a different approach. This time I inked up the block stamp...but instead of stamping onto the cardstock, I took the cardstock and pressed it onto my stamp (which was lying upright on the table of course). I made sure to lightly press all over the cardstock...and when I pulled the cardstock off the stamp...what do you know -- a perfectly stamped background!!! :)

Trial and error. Lots of patience. I've learned something new. And next time I won't be afraid of wasting cardstock, 'cause this technique is now tried and true -- and works everytime! (I stamped multiple backgrounds so I know it wasn't just luck. :p It really works everytime!)

Anyways, enough of about all that stamping drama!!! I'm sure you all want to see my card, eh???

I stamped the Script background stamp with red ink. Next, I stamped a beautiful  LOVE clear stamp onto some plain white Vellum paper I've had in my stash forever.

I love Vallum on cards, but it just never seems to fit for any of my cards. With this stamped background it was perfect! :) I love that you can see the script underneath, but it's not so overpowering and the "Love" stamp is still the focal point of the card.

Finally, I added two tiny butterfly cutouts and of course some bling. :)

It's a simple card, but because of the stamped background paper there's still lots of detail. Background stamps are soooooooooo cool!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. :) ...and all your kind comments. You make blogging and showcasing my work that much more fun! :)

Something Here, Something There

Hi guys! I love my Cuttlebug!!! :) I got it for a wedding gift...and I must say it's the best crafting gift I 've ever gotten!!! There's so much you can do with it! :) And it's perfect for creating the Clean and Simple cards that I love. A little texture adds so much to an otherwise boring card.

Here's a card I made using up some Cuttlebugged textures I have in my "scraps".

A few layers here....

                 a stamp there...

                                 some punched butterflies here...

and finished off with a few tiny bling..

Here's the finished card:

Thanks for dropping by. Have a blessed day :)

Another Wedding Theme

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I've posted...buy it's summertime...which gets really busy around here...and there's not a whole lot of time spent at my crafting table. But every now I then, when I need a break from the other activities and stuff, I head on over there and make a card or two.

Here's one I lifted off a wedding card I found online. I loved the idea of the hearts being the bride/groom, etc.

I must say, it turned out better than I thought it would -- even if I only had a Scalloped Heart punch and I wanted a plain-edged heart. It worked out either way. :)

Thanks for  stopping by. Hope your summer is fun-filled...just like it's suppose to be :)

Thoughts and Prayers

Hi guys. Today I want to share some of my latest cards. These cards are not extravagant -- they don't have a whole lot to them, just a little stamping and some bling. But it's the simplicity to them that I love so much. :)

I borrowed a Stamping Up set called "Thoughts and Prayers" from a friend. This stamp set is sooooooooo awesome -- and so versatile! There's so much you can do with them! :) I had a blast! :)

Here's the first:

And here's the second one:

From time to time I like to make some square cards. They're not my usual, but they're fun to make and keep things a little interesting. I also added lots of bling to the flowers to give this card a bit of shine...but still keep it's simplicity.

Here's a better view of all the bling on the flowers.  :)

Coloured Flowers

Hi guys! I think it's time to post another blog entry, eh??? The summer is just flying by!!! So little time! But ever so often it's nice to sit down with a cup of tea and do some serious blogging and blog hopping....and share a card or two from my stash. :)

Here's one I recently made with a stamped image....an image that I actually coloured as well!!! :O

LOL -- yeah, colouring an image for a card doesn't happen very often in my world. It's not that it's difficult -- it just takes me out of my comfort zone. :p  But from time to time I like to mix things up...and see what'll happen if/when I try something new.

I saw some cards with very simple colored images -- no promarkers and all the things the "professionals" in blog land use -- just using simple markers that do one colour, etc. It made me realize that images could look just as good without all those fancy supplies...that just aren't in my crafting budget...no matter  how much I wish I had some...

And my card turned out really nice if I do have to say so myself! Love the summery feel it has -- bright and cheerful. :) Perfect for putting a smile on someone's face...

Whatcha think??? I don't need the promarkers, eh??? :p LOL
